yesterday, i finished calligraphy and went to the bookstore with my mother to buy some books. when i came to the bookstore, i saw the world classic, gone with the wind. open it and find it interesting and buy it.

when i got home, i couldn't wait to start looking. "gone with the wind" is about her life. she is unyielding and unyielding in the face of the flames of war. in the face of the death of her loved ones, she dried her tears and tried to cheer up. in the face of the lover's departure, she is undaunted, to start again.

she had been through many trials and tribulations, and she had always loved her, but she could only marry her cousin, melanie, for the fame of her family. scarlett was forced by her life to marry three men she did not love.

some of them died of illness, some of them resolutely left her. scarlett had three children, but she still managed to feed them.

scarlett, who had married three men to feed her children, had endured a lot of pain, and her hands had gone from soft, white, delicate hands to calloused hands.

i admire scarlett very much, she is undaunted, unyielding, too great!

reading a good book can affect a person. being with someone who is with you can affect your life. during my stay at home, i took "gone with the wind" from my bookshelf and savored the stories i described in the english world. the heroine of the story is bright and strong, she is brave and strong, she is optimistic, she struggles with life and she never gives in.

in the book, she is a beautiful woman with an angel's face and a figure of the devil. and the most profound is her yearning for love and persistence. in the turbulent years of america, she married two men she didn't like, out of frustration with reality. in her love view, love and marriage can be separated; and in china, all the love affairs that do not take marriage as the purpose are rogues, which may be the phenomenon of eastern and western cultural differences.

it seems to us that many foreigners are very open, because they carry on the final process of the final flop. but in their eyes, our relationship is open. they believe that marriage is a sacred and serious thing that distinguishes it from love. they are surprised to see some young people falling in love without thinking about getting married and having children. and as the world moves forward, the world is becoming a global village, and these cultural differences are gradually shrinking.

for the heroine scarlett's love view, put it in the current social perspective, will be a rational concept. in the modern society in the 21st century, women should have their own business, have the thought to be able to spell, and break out of their own little world; in this way we are not in a passive position in marriage, in other words, we can live together as equals. even with an attractive appearance, the body of the devil, we should not be obsessed with it and forget to add value to ourselves. the rebellious side of the heroine gives us the infinite inspiration of contemporary women.

in the treatment of love, we can be persistent, we can be brave to love; even if we encounter setbacks and injuries, we should look forward to it. in scarlett's love in the world no late, when she lose ashley, thoroughly lost daughter, after her husband left her, she realized that her love was rhett, she put aside psychic trauma and remorse, believe that as long as you work hard and insist, can the heart of rhett.

in real life, we can not love passionately, but have a positive heart to face everything. the absence of love, or the lack of love, the explanation is that there is no point; still, there will be more wonderful waiting for you to uncover the veil. the waiting process can be beautiful. we often say that a person's wonderful. we can develop our own hobbies, invest in our specialties, work well, live well, treat you well, become confident, and your charm will be everywhere.

in the days of reading "gone with the wind", the portrayal of a strong image has made my heart grow stronger and stronger. beauty and not pride, have the mind, dare to do, i think is what i am longing for.

throughout france and china, fewpeople know the name “al fang xenon plessey”, however, quite a lotof people have read la traviata and have got to know somethingabout the marvelous love story.

al fang xenon plessey was theoriginal character of the heroin in the famous french literaturework la traviata. the moving, tear-jerking love story was adaptedand recreated from al fang xenon plessey’s experience. la traviata waswritten by dumas. in fact, the story told in the novel was almostexactly the love story between dumas and his lover.dumas, whosefather was also a famous writer, did not live a very goodchildhood. instead, because of his special identity as anillegitimate child, he was often made fun of by his fellows.alexander dumas, his father, was so ungrateful that he abandoneddumas and his weaver mother immediately after he got somereputation and put himself into a new, luxury world. eventually hethought of little dumas and his poor mother. at that time, he haddeveloped a very intimate relationship with an actress and had justhad a newly-born daughter. alexander dumas adopted little dumasthrough legal way, leaving the weaver alone. what a miserable lifeshe had been living!pure and plain as dumas was, hegradually changed with the surroundings. it was not his fault!living in a materialistic surrounding, especially under the exampleof his father, who had lived an extravagant and luxury life, dumassimply couldn’t avoid been involved in the polluted society andgradually adapted to the shift from a freshman to a bad guy likehis father. he, also, began to seek for extravagance, sex andreputation. “what the father look like, what the son will be” isoften referred when people talked about this father andson.however, we know that dumas hadlived with mother for 7 years, during which time he had beenreceiving formal and integrity education. hence, even though dumaswas living a dissolute life, he was still with conscience. we shallnever forget that dumas began writing at a very young age, evenwhen he was still a teenager, he had release quite a few novels andpoems. but all his early works were not paid attention.

it was latraviata that gave dumas an important place in french literature.or more precisely, we should say it was the fascinatingencountering of dumas and al fang xenon plessey that made dumasworld famous.the love story inthe novel went almost exactly as the real story. the only evidentdifferences are the names. in the novel, the hero was named armanand the heroin was named margaret while dumas and al fang xenonplessey outside the story.margaret was a popular parisprostitute. one day when alma was attending an opera, margaret wasso attractive and shining that alma noticed her immediately out ofso many ordinary women and fell in love with her at the firstsight. after the show, with help of a neighbor of margaret, almawas introduced to margaret. they had a meal together that night.margaret seemed to be very delighted, she laughed, spoke loudly.however, she coughed very badly. silently she left her seat andwalked into her bedroom when others were right in the mood. almafollowed her. she was having hemoptysis, which scared almaterribly. he sincerely tried to persuade her to take good care ofherself. such advice and persuasion may seem common but it strokemargaret. never in her life had she been greeted and cared about assincerely. after all, the two became closely connected and beforelong margaret agreed to date with alma.

we can hardly tell whether almaloved margaret out of love or out of sympathy. because throughouttheir contact, alma did persuade margaret to take good care andpreserve her well. what’s more, he even accompanied her to thecountryside to recuperate, as has never been doneothers.intimate time as they had, at lastthey had to break up. alma’s father was a reserved, loyal man whowould never allow a prostitute to enter his family. secretly hemade an agreement with margaret which forced margaret to leavealma, claiming that it was the way to show her love and loyalty toalma.that margaret died in despair wassomething within expectation though very saddening. she had beenill for a long time but she never really tried to do herself good.addicted in the luxury world, she was not capable of druggingherself out of it.crazy went alma when he got to knowthe bad news. it was really a long time for him to come back tohimself. even, he didn’t believe that margaret had died until heopened the coffin and saw the scaring face of his oncelover.outside the story, dumas also wasvery desperate about plessey’s death. however, he did not revealhis emotions. neither had he written down something as a tributenor had he frequently been to the montmartre cemetery to show hisyearnings. but that he was deeply shocked was without doubt.everything had gone too fast for him!

when dumas finished his travel tonorth africa and came back to paris, the view of the empty room wasso striking that dumas thought he should do something to memorizemargaret. in only one month dumas created the famous novel, whichturned out to be really a hit to the whole world. coincidence ornot, dumas was also buried in the montmartre cemetery. the twointimate lovers could only continue their storyunderground.

in this summer holidays, i read a book called t; great expectations>, it was written by charles dickens, one of the most famous english writers. he wrote lots of wonderful novels. this book is one of his compositions.

people always like to compare with their friends. it is a big foible of all the people. if other people have a lot of money, we also want to be rich. if all the people around us are poor , we never mind that we are very poor, too. we will not ashamed because of our folly. this is a social problem.

if we never possess anything, we will not mind we lost some thing. since we don’t want to be very rich ,we will not feel despond because poor.

the protagonist of this novel is pip (handel). his parents died when he was a baby. his sister had brought him up ‘by hand’. his sister married to joe gargery, the village blacksmith. they didn’t have much money, and pip never went to school to study. but he was often very happy .because all of his friends are like him. it isn’t very unfortunate to them, this is their lives. but by a chance, pip helped a convict; he gave much food to him. then he met miss havisham, a very strange old woman and she was very rich.

four years later, miss havisham wants pip to be removed from his home and educated as a gentleman who expects inherit a fortune when he grow up.

after hearing that . pip started to despise his poor friends. he even feel ashamed because he live with the poor man . pip’s ‘great expectations’ destroyed his life.

this novel told us that we cannot compare with others .don’t feel envy at the others money. and if one day you be very rich , please don’t despise your poor friends.

"love" in the history of english literature is handed down as a classic, it has successfully shaped the history of english literature first on love, life, society and religion, have taken a stand on ones own initiative and dare to struggle, dare to fight for free and equal status of women.

almost all women love foreign literature, like d charlottes "in love".if we think that charlotte is only just to write this section of tangled up love to write "love".i think, sorry, thats not correct.the author also is a female, living in turbulent england in the middle of the nineteenth century, when the thoughts have a brand new start.and in "jane love" in infiltration is the largest such thoughts -- womens sense of independence.let us imagine, if jane love independent, has been killed in his childhood; if she did not share the independent, she already and wife rochester to live together, began to have money, a new life; if she is not that the purity, we are now in the hands of "jane love" is no longer a touching tears classic.so, i began to think, why "jane love" let us be moved, fondle admiringly -- she is independent personality, beckoning personality charm.

however, we cant help wanting to ask, only this step can be independent?i think i wont.after all, womens independence is a long-term process, not accomplish at one stroke.it needs a thorough courage, love was like jane decided to leave rochester, need "wind rustling xi the yi river is so cold, strong earth to did not return" heroic and courage.i think, this should be the most crucial one step, also should be the decisive step towards independence.and charlottes jane love but her stubborn disposition, independent personality left us a moved.so she is successful, happy women.

jane love has as an independent womens classic, i hope the sun, the flowers more jane love out, whether poor or rich,; whether beauty, or homely, have good heart and enrich the mind, can the independent personality and a strong sexual life.

my impression of "dr. jekyll and mr. hyde"

recently i read a book named dr.jekyii and mr. hyde. it is a quite interesting book. this novel is written by the famous scottish author, robert louis stevenson. it is about a london lawyer named john gabriel utterson who investigates strange behavior in his old friend, dr. hey jekyll and the evil edward hyde.

dr. hey jekyll was a scientist who was always considered as a serious, hard-working doctor. behind this character, however, he was an active, fun-loving young man-about-town. he had spent most of his life trying to remove the devil from his heart which was not fitting for a man of his stature. after much thought, he finally decided to create a drug that could give each side of his character its own separate face and body. then, he bravely drank the drug and successfully transformed himself into the smaller, younger, cruel, remorseless, evil edward hyde. dr. jekyll enjoyed his secret very much--but not for ever after. as time went by, mr. hyde grew in power. after taking the drug repetitively, dr. jekyll no longer needed to use the drug to relief his devil.eventually, mr. hyde grew so strong that dr. jekyll had to rely on the drug to remain himself.he first injured a child in street, then beat sir danvers to death for no reason. realizing he would soon become hyde forever, dr. jekyll left behind a confession and commit suicide.

for most of the book, i believed that the story concerns two people. dr jekyll who born in a rich family , is a kindly old doctor, with two very old friends, utterson and lanyon. mr. hyde is a smaller, younger man, with a capacity of evil and repels everyone he meets. and yet, despite being apparent opposites in so many ways, there are clear links between the two men. hyde gives the family of a child he has beaten a cheque signed by jekyll. hyde has a key to the back entrance to jekyll’s house, and hyde can come and go at will and give orders to jekyll’s servants. and when dr.jekyii’s friend, utterson received a letter from hyde saying that he is going away for ever, but realizing that it is in jekyll’s handwriting. finally, the narrator tells the truth about the two men. they are one and the same.

i learnt that robert louis stevenson is a gothic author through the internet.

gothic authors recognize that all human beings have the capacity for goodness, but all people also have a shadow side, and it is the degree to which one sublimates and controls his or her darker impulses that prevents one from becoming consumed with evil. in his novel, the central problem of dr. jekyll is that he cannot accept this truism about humanity and, particularly, about himself. actually, the two sides of a person have well defined power and responsibility, mutual coordination and restraint. they know the appropriate time and situation to behave themselves. you can be serious at work with a character likes dr. jekyll and have your private life as crazy as you want. this is nothing to be ashamed of, but dr. jekyll didnt realize it at that time. everyone plays different roles in different situations. we neednt to shame about it. the double-dealers can always gain advantage from both sides and live well.

when dr. jekyll took the drug and devided into two person, this tragedy is waiting to happen. human will be destroyed not by natural disaster but the evil inside human. but how can we deal with this serious problem, the inner conflict of good and evil? first, we should correct the idea that we can kill off the evil side. instead, we should acknowledge it, and then make the good side power by developing good habits step by step. we are educated citizens living in this beautiful planet. we are the hope in the future. we know what is right and what is wrong, and we have the obligations to regulate our behavior in accordance with the code of ethics. when we are doing things, we should consider whether it is morally right. make this consideration a habit. second, pay more attention to self-cultivation and adjusting attitude at any time in any place. in the course of human events, we have experienced the dark days of hard-working, when people work the whole day and the whole night like a crow without a short time of rest. such a horrible life has gone forever. third, release bad emotions as soon as possible. unhealthy emotions can not be avoided, but we can release it through some healthy ways, such as running, playing sports, talking with others and so on. the more depression we hide, the more split personalities we tend to have. it is just the stimulation of the depression that causes many people totally become evil. last but not least, don’t emphasize too much on the gain and loss of personal interests. in this colorful world, there exist various kinds of personal interests, especially pecuniary interest.

i really learn a lot from the book “dr jekyll and mr. hyde”. it is a warning for us to review our behavior. the future is bright, but road is tortuous. in order to grow healthily, we’d better drop the bad behavior and bad attitude. every thing can be settled, only if we have the determination.

i read the chinese version of “camille” a few years ago. at that time i was deeply moved by the main character marguerite gautier. “camille” or “the lady of the camellias” by alexandre dumas, fils, is the story of marguerite gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in paris in the mid 1800's, and how she falls in love with a young man, armand duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. when i first began to read the book, i did not care for marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as i got further into the narrative, i realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. she felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle armand duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. it must have taken great courage for marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. and it also showed that marguerite really loved armand duval for she could even change herself for him.

however, happiness didn’t last for long. when m. duval, armand's father, came to her, pleading for her to leave armand to save both armand's reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. she felt that it was her duty, because she loved armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting armand temporarily. she reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day armand would forgive her. sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, julie duprat, who helped her during her illness. she had her journal sent to armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. i think dumas's last few lines about marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and i also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. a person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. this applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. and this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.

as far as the other characters in the book, i think marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being armand and julie duprat. of course, the comte de g. and comte de n. wanted her body and appearance. the duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. if he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. and lastly, prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used marguerite almost worse than the men. i also think she was jealous of the fact that marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.

last morning, when tiding my bookshelf, i took this book out of the shelf, and a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. i held it against the morning light and blew on it. the soft breeze carried it away. camille is just like the camellia, she could never escape from the destiny of withering. but it wasn’t her fault; it’s because of the evil of capitalism and the hideousness of that society.

suddenly, i remembered a saying: “women are like the flowers”。 those pretty women are like those beautiful flowers; their delicate beauty makes people feel they are the miracle of life. however, even the god envies their beauty. it seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. as we are normal persons, even we can see the hideousness of humanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at most ask quietly in our hearts: where have those beautiful flowers gone? where have they gone?
